Leona Lewis - Happy

... its about going after everything that will make you happy no matter what the consequences because life isnt worth living unless you chase what you want.

GIRL WEEKEND

SATURDAY with my cousin DOLORES. She´s mad! But a lovely girl deep inside. Taught her how to start up a blog so watch this space... there may be a new link coming up!
followed by a night out to the infamous W5... with Ali and Jamie, and some of their friends... and a couple of M.O.´s and ended up with an embarrassing moment called Grant that we better forget...
moving on...

SUNDAY blown by the wind...(literally as we experienced strong winds!) went with ANGELA to the Windmill. Lovely countryside restaurant! The lovely fire place reminded me of home... the country houses in Catalonia, all with a fire place, to enjoy the warmth and the toasted bread... toasted bread tastes so much better when toasted on real flames... enough nostalgia!

followed by cinema session: 2012. I am sorry for those anti-american hero movie people... I loved this film! The idea is very original, everything makes kind of sense... I know the fleeing from L.A. in the limo is totally sci-fi but hey, special effects are grand!

See the trailer:

And now back to the routine... looking forward to a busy week at work!

NEW TOY: CHEVROLET KALOS

Welcome to the family the new Chevrolet... a much needed new car for mum and dad´s trips to the beach, after our beloved Citroën AX had to retire. Citroën AX came to the family when I was 19, (19 years ago!!!) just after I took my driving licence. Dad was always on his Vespa so no need for a car, until Citroën was born. We bought her second hand already, and she saw my first trips to Barcelona to attend Uni, then my first trips to the airport when I got a job. I have taken her to see the snow, to Sitges, and not much more. She had a solar panel on the roof... very posh, and a state-of-the-art Blaupunkt radio-cassette, very very posh!! We have had two near misses together, ...phew! and some kisses too. And we moved house together probably 3 times until she became 100% my dad´s and my first Seat Ibiza came in. She´ll be missed!

NEW TOY: SONY ERICSSON SATIO

Taking advantatge of my free upgrade with my mobile phone provider I have upgraded to the new Sony Ericsson Satio. I love this phone and it´s got a fantastic camera so I am hoping for better quality pics soon... I find it very difficult though to get to know how to use it, I am not used to touchscreen and internet and all, and, afer all, I think there is too much in it that I doubt I will ever use! The dilemma was either this or the iPhone. Everybody has got the iPhone, but it´s a good phone! so all my friends have said I made the wrong decision. I feel like I have, but then I didn´t want to follow the crowds and rush to get the iPhone. For Gods´s sake, it´s only a phone!! Give me some time to get used to it.

BALI - by night

... and next... Bali by night!!!

BEST MOMENTS

3. SUNSET at CALEGO BEACH. Nearest to our villa, we spent almost everyday in Calego beach, with good food, pedicures, and meeting the local boys in the sea waves...

2. Finishing my book Et donaré la terra , de Chufo Llorens... I had to because I left it for Julian to give to Pilar, she likes this kind of books.

1.Unforgettable lunch with Egi and friends at his place...

BALI - by day

Air Asia: Destination Denpasar...

Bali by day...

Dreamland Beach.

Encounter with the waves...

Sidemen: Mission Mount Agung. Last year we couldn´t do the Volcano, this year we couldn´t either. Hopefully we will next year!

We spent the night at a closed hotel with bambu bungalows in the town of Sidemen. We offered cash to the warden and he let us stay. Apparently the hotel was closed as there was some wedding going on with all the staff... very strange... and very scary! slept in a beautiful bungalow with the frogs, the gekos and the mosquitoes... we washed in the river first -with the naked locals- and then took a shower in the open air bathroom... we ate at the one-and-only restaurant in town... truly amazing off the beaten track!

The morning after, Mount Agung didn´t happen because the road is seriously STEEP and the car didn´t make it!! Scary to drive in first gear... the burning smell made us stop and the friendly locals advised not to continue... :o(

After the failed attempt to reach the volcano, we headed to Amed, to see the ocean on the other side of Bali with no waves, clear waters, ideal for diving and snorkeling. You can get your PADI cert there as there are plenty of schools. We just did the snorkeling, they took us to a little bay, lots of colourful fishes and a sunken boat... however don´t fret... it wasn´t the Titanic, just some metal skull left and an anchor... just a small sunken boat. The boat ride to the little bay was well worth it, we loved our captain and we were really impressed how they operated the sail and how fast the boat was with the strength of the wind...

lunch facing the sea

Mount Agung covered by clouds...

This is our man in Amed... find him at EURODIVE

And later in the afternoon the clouds went and we could see Mount Agung´s!!

BANGKOK - BALI

Well well well, hellooo everyone. Finally unpacked all, done all the washing, inmersed back into work, life is like holidays never happened. So let´s put some highlights here to remember the good times.

First stop after KL was Bangkok...

DJ Station and Babylon are the highlights. No pictures taken. Fantastic night in DJ Station when I met Jerome and Aldrin, friends from London that I never see, until I decide to go out in Bangkok... small world!

During the day we had the best lunch at Bangkok Mandarin Oriental... which included a free ride on the hotel boat along the river back to the train station.

What we missed though was a visit to the Vertigo Moon Bar at the Banyan Tree Hotel:

worth going back for!!
