Experts are calling on the world to recognise the "global threat" of an asteroid hit to earth.

They´ve been holding a three-day workshop in Germany, discussing how countries would react.

The conference in the city of Darmstadt is considering theoretical but plausible scenarios of an asteroid impact on our planet.

"The question often arises in the general public: Can we in fact do something about this. And the answer is yes. We don't even have to develop new technologies. Our existing space technology enables us to actually slightly change the orbit of an asteroid that we see headed an impact 15 or 20 or 50 years ahead of us."

Humans could be sent to Mars 'one-way'

Humans could be sent to Mars one-way as part of Nasa plans to permanently colonise other planets.

Scientists have confirmed that they are looking into the possibility sending astronauts to other planets by 2030.

It would take the volunteers nine months to get to the red planet, and they would leave knowing they would never see Earth again.

That is because it would cost too much to fly them back.

Today I have flown a plane for the first time in my life!!! Stapleford Aerodrome. One hour flight around the Thames estuary and the east of England... Flight Instructor Paddy took off and leveled the Piper Warrior and then gave me the controls... It is fantastic, up and down, and left and right... it is the most powerful drug... Paddy did some steep turns, we felt the G-force on our brains -and estomach- and wheightlessness when engine stalled and went down quick... memorable... forever thank you Paddy!

It was not meant to be... Barça was defeated today by Inter Milán. After a good game in Milán, Inter had to ensure it had a robust defence. And they did, and even with one less player, Barça was unable to score the two goals it needed to classify for the Champions Final to be held in Madrid.

This pic is taken at the top of one of the rocks at Montserrat. Montgròs. Unforgetable hiking. Especially on the way down, trapped on difficult points, run out of water so drank from strings and finally made it home at 7pm for lunch! Crazy!

Fantastic views, if you look on the horizon you can see the sun light reflecting on the Mediterranean Sea.

BALI MOMENTS: KU DÉ TA. Oscar´s last supper. Went to my favourite Ku Dé Ta. Felt somewhat sick though! Lunch wasn´t very good that day and I suffered. The orchids in the men´s restroom aren´t probably too impressed...

BALI MOMENTS: HOME. This is home in Bali. Nice little hotel. 4 rooms with a pool in the middle. Sorrounded by plants and Budah´s. Typical balinese home.

BALI MOMENTS: RETURN AT DARK. Every night. After the bars, always made it home in the dark. Every night. This is coming in Puri Wimpy. Home.

BALI MOMENTS: NYEPI. The NYEPI festival is once a year. After the Ogoh Ogoh monster is killed, peace returns to the island. Balinese celebrate with a day of silence, fasting and self-meditation. Nobody is allowed to do nothing. Even tourists are not exempt and must stay in their hotels. The airport is closed. You are not allowed out. Lights are not allowed on. It´s a quiet time to spend at home with your family. Candle light dinner and candle light swim. We witnessed the best night sky. We witnessed the silence.

Hong Kong! My dodgy knee refrained me from going back to Spain for a quicky skiing with my brother up in the Pyrenees... so I chose Hong Kong instead.. buff! Juanvi had the ticket, he was operating the flight and I joined as a cling on... first time in Hong Kong. It felt like being in a city from another planet...

Victoria Peak... and we met Juanma, a very good amateur photographer, impressed with his own webpage and all... (maybe one day!)

Chicago Chicago! a quick surprise trip for Angel all the way to Chicago, midweek, just 2 nights, but definetely left us wanting for more... viva Chicago!

second day: the snow fell, all the city white, temperatures way below zero, the canal was frozen.

but we still went shopping and also went out.. to Roscoe´s, we had a lovely night with house specials going up to our heads, and also to Sidetrack where we met Mariah Carey biggest fans Will and Charles the blond friend! (see Oprah.com)
Apparently though we missed The Lucky Horseshoe, Hydrate, Jackhammer, Manhandler and Steamworks... lots to do then we´ll have to go back!

Mum (Maria Gloria) and aunty (tieta Carme) have been in town.

Mum is coming tomorrow for a visit. (And the flat is a bit of a mess)...
Vincent is buying the flat of his dreams in Barcelona...
Angel is coming to London in January...
Been invited for skiing weekend in January to Austria with Michi...
Isabel has bought a new laptop...
Jan´s been in touch from Australia... (mmm another invite!)
Gorgeous Colin long lost friend has found me on facebook...

so, now, the only thing missing is winning the lottery tonight... euromillions 27 million pounds! We´ve all dreamed sometime what would we do with the money!

And it´s wednesday! So, back to work tomorrow!
Pretty busy!

Saturday out to Bertolli with Bruno and co. coming from Paris to London for the weekend. Did the Christmas shopping tour and ended up at Barcode for few drinks...

Sunday rainy sunday, chill out at home. Managed to catch up with JUlian, who has been in Melacca for the weekend and he is fine.

Monday work outing. On monday night, drinks are 1.50 at Comptons so we headed there with some friends from work, that is as far as I remember, the rest it´s all a blur. Well, it is not, but I have chosen for it to be a blur now because I am too concerned to face the true facts...
and this is as far as it goes...

Tuesday, went with Angela to the re-opening of La Bertola restaurant in Colnbrook since it´s now owned by my friend Allison and Pietro... fantastic meal lots of carbs after 9pm... err not good?

and today wednesday dinner with David from Dubai and friend Mark at Balans in Soho, followed by drinks, alas, at Barcode, with this other guy from Dubai, Amer, but did nothing to embarrass myself, the proof is that I am at home right now typing this(instead of the Grosvenor Hotel suite) Had a chat on MSN with my german friend Renaldo and it´s now off to bed.
